Event Information

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged. TED is now an annual conference that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas in diverse disciplines including technology, science, entertainment, motivation, social issues, health and wellness, entrepreneurship and the economy. The talks at the TED conference, called TED Talks, are then made available to watch for free.

TED has built a global community devoted to spreading worthy ideas both online and at TED and TEDx events around the world, all year long. TED believes passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.

TED is owned by a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation who’s goal is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversations that matter.

In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading,” TED created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED conference-like experience.

At a TEDx event, TED Talks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections. TEDx events are organized by local individuals under license from TED.
