What I benefit most from using LinkedIn is that I am able to not only show and list the skills that I have but also being able to network and connect with current or past colleagues who share some similar skills sets with me.

How do I benefit from LinkedIn? Wow, where do I begin? LinkedIn is like the gift that that keeps on giving. I’ve been approached with job offers on LinkedIn. I receive professional opinion on certain areas that I’m not strong in such as human resources and marketing. There’s a saying, “surround yourself with people better than you if you want to succeed”, LinkedIn does that. 🙂

As a young professional, LinkedIn has allowed me to connect with and learn from experts and senior professionals in the industries and companies I am passionate about – automobiles and advertising. It allows me to build an online but humanized relationship with those in my network.

Love Linkedin and my other SM platforms – all for different reasons.
Twitter is like the cocktail party, Facebook is like the Backyard BBQ and linkedin is like my boardroom- and we need all three.

LinkedIn has helped me to stay current on what my colleagues, old coworkers and old classmates have been up to career-wise and has provided me with invaluable leads for various projects.

As an independent consultant I’d love to learn how to promote my skills through LinkedIn highlighting past and current clients and how I worked with them! This would help me a lot for new contract leads!:)

The greatest benefit to me is being able to more easily stay up-to-date with colleagues around the world, especially when large time zone changes are at play.

LinkedIn has made it easy to see what skills and connections people I know have. This makes it easy for me to connect people and their skills to each other!

The biggest benefit I receive pre meeting profile building to learn more about that person’s back ground and interest.

As a self employed person in a creative field, I strongly believe that a robust LinkedIn profile lends credibility to myself and my services. It’s my resume on steroids. LinkedIn is also my primary tool to help my network with info and connections.

As a recent MBA graduate and job seeker, LinkedIn has been invaluable. First, it helps me to remain actively connected with my current contacts and helps me to expand my network. I am constantly seeking the advice and guidance from senior level professionals in companies or industries that I am interested and passionate about pursuing. Second, LinkedIn has been an amazing resource for applying to jobs. The job listings are great but the real value comes with finding connections and people that can help to facilitate introductions or offer their support.

I have found a huge networking benefit to LinkedIn. This has helped me not only meet new business contacts, and make deals but also grow my personal Brand. As I get ready to launch my new company I am very excited to get it on LinkedIn and to start growing its brand/network as well.

  21. Mark Bakker April 22, 2013 at 4:11 pm #

What I find the best part of LinkedIn, is that I can separate friends from colleagues. Even though I don’t post private info on facebook, I don’t want all of my coworkers to see that info.

LinkedIn also establishes tone. When you see someone visited your profile, sends you a message, or asks you to connect, you know that it’s for business purposes, not personal.

LinkedIn is a great way to research before meetings and pitches. A little information can go a long way when it comes to making an impact and building relationships!
