Celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Vancouver Olympic & Paralympic Games and 50th Birthday of Our Canadian Flag – A Festive Canadian Club Breakfast!
Thursday, February 12th 7:00 AM - 9:30 AM at the Vancouver Convention Centre - West
On February 15, 2015, National Flag of Canada Day, our flag will turn 50! As we prepare for the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the 50th anniversary of our flag is a milestone that will allow Canadians to reflect on our flag and what it represents — a nation strong, proud and free that is admired and respected at home and around the world.
February also marks a special milestone for Vancouver, with February 12 being the 5th anniversary of the Vancouver Olympic Opening Ceremony – a moment of huge pride for our city.
Please join us at this special breakfast celebration at the Vancouver Convention Centre, West to mark these two important anniversaries. We will be hearing presentations from John Furlong OC, OBC, CEO of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as Senator Nancy Greene Raine OC, OBC, OD, gold medal winning alpine skier and Canada’s Female Athlete of the 20th Century. Councillor Elizabeth Ball will also be attending to bring greetings from the City of Vancouver.
We will also enjoy a performance by Mulgrave Junior Choir, as well as a raffle to benefit Kid Sport. We encourage everybody to wear their Team Canada Olympic gear to the event!
