Teleseminar: Pulp Testing for Certified Dental Assistants

Pulp testing for certified dental assistants is an introductory presentation to this oft avoided service that CDAs can perform. Pulp and periradicular testing is a learned skill and with practice you will get better. This presentation, delivered by Dr. Joel Fransen, will help motivated CDAs start down the path of being able to take an active role in finding the source of pulp and periradicular pain.

About the Speaker
The Royal College of Dentists of Canada recognises Dr. Joel Fransen as a certified specialist in endodontics; he is registered to practice in both the Province of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (BScOT), University of British Columbia, a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD),University
of British Columbia, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics (cert Endo), Baylor School of Dentistry, Texas A&M Health Sciences Center. In 1993, Dr. Fransen participated in a dental student exchange programme between the University of British Columbia and the Nippon Dental University in Tokyo and Niigata.

Dr. Fransen practices the full scope of modern endodontics including differential diagnosis, revascularisation and vital pulp therapy, non-surgical treatment and re-treatment, and endodontic microsurgery. He is one of only a handful of endodontists in North America that has pursued advanced training in implant dentistry. Dr. Fransen grew up in Richmond and is excited to be back home after many years away. He is an avid fan of the Vancouver Whitecaps, Liverpool FC, and of course the various teams his three children play for in the Richmond Soccer League.
