Richmond Luncheon Featuring Florence Wong

Advocis Vancouver is inviting members and their guests with practices based in Richmond and the surrounding areas to attend a social and informative session featuring special guest Florence Wong, lawyer at Kerr Redekop Leinburd & Boswell. Florence will be discussing “WESA” – the Wills, Estates and Succession Act – and the importance of wills and estate planning.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Florence Wong was called to the Bar in 1981. Florence carries on a general practice in the area of corporate/commercial law, real estate and leases. She also assists our clients with their wills and estate work. Florence speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Florence has extensive experience closing residential and commercial real estate transactions and she has also acted for both landlords and tenants in many commercial leasing matters. Florence also represents financial institutions in drawing mortgages and other financing documents.

Florence’s client list includes many closely held companies. She assists these clients in various corporate transactions including incorporation, organization and reorganization of their companies. Many clients have also called upon Florence to assist them in the purchase or sale of their businesses.

Florence has been trained in mediation and will not hesitate to use her mediation skills to resolve shareholder disputes.

At Vector Chelsie develops and implements annual marketing plans and is involved in high-level strategic planning to help Vector reach its company goals. Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Chelsie loves the outdoors whether she is hiking, camping, surfing or on a long distance run.

By day, Sarah Clark is a communications manager at Telus. Outside of work, Sarah volunteers with YES! Vancouver as their Communications Director, where she is responsible for leading the strategy and implementation for YES’ internal and external communications, including e-communications to Members, web content and all social media activities. In the little spare time she has left, Sarah lets her creative juices flow by providing graphic design and social media consulting services. When she's not at work or online, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, skiing, checking out live music, cheering on the Canucks, and trying out new restaurants.

A media and events professional for the past 10 years, Tamara has worked as a PR Consultant, Wedding Planning Assistant, On-Air radio personality, Music Director and is currently the Senior Promotions Coordinator for CKNW News Talk 980 and AM730 Traffic as well taking on the role as Corporate Event Planner for CORUS Radio Vancouver. Tamara is also a published author with her debut novel 'Daughter of the Moon' produced by Influence Publishing, where Tamara is also an event planning consultant working with her fellow authors to produce their dream book launch events. Michaela Eaton-Kent (4)

Michaela Eaton-Kent is her final year at the University of British Columbia on her way to completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science. Her interests beyond politics include traveling, cooking, environmentalism and snowboarding. Always on the hunt for a new adventure she spent 6 months in South East Asia in 2012 as part of an exchange program in Singapore and volunteer work in Cambodia . This past year she spent 6 weeks attempting to improve on her french at La Université Sainte-Anne and is always looking for new opportunities to practice.

With over 17 years of experience in the design industry, Karolyn enjoys providing clients with creative designs while building long lasting relationships along the way. With a background in advertising, marketing and project management in the design agency world coupled with her background in art direction, graphic design and copy editing in the media industry, Karolyn is well equipped to create outstanding results for her clients. Her study of psychology compliments my interest in understanding each of my client’s project goals and outcomes. Karolyn also believes in giving back. A big part of her life is sharing and educating others about the world of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). It is an area that is close to her heart. She is a mother of two amazing little people who she enjoys watching grow and learning all of what life has to offer.

Samantha Ellis (3)

Samantha Ellis is a fourth year English Literature student at the University of British Columbia. Her two greatest loves include writing and philanthropy and she plans on pursuing both intensely in the future. Though her interest in volunteering began with her involvement with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Victoria, her passion found a home in the Ronald McDonald House of BC, for which she has been a loyal volunteer for the past four years. She spent her most recent semester abroad, studying literature in Brighton, England. This experience sparked both her interest in travel and a decent cup of tea. When she is not immersed in a book you can find her spending time with her friends, attempting beginner’s yoga, or in an endless search for a bargain Pinot Grigio.
