Event Information
Are you a born leader? Or is great leadership developed? 100 years of research tells us that both are possible. Leadership is a complex and sophisticated role. There is no question that some remarkable people enter the world with the confidence it takes to make difficult decisions, along with a desire to lead. Other leaders are nurtured or even thrust into leadership roles.
So how do good leaders learn to lead? Good leaders develop through constant learning about their personalities, relationships and careers, not to mention the kind of leader they want to become. And although there are no silver bullets for becoming a good leader– because everyone takes a custom-made path — the journeys of the leaders can share several elements.
Join Barbara Kaminsky, Chief Executive Officer, British Columbia and Yukon, Canadian Cancer Society, Lisa Vogt, Partner, Chief Diversity and Engagement Officer at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and Cheryl Carter, Principal, Carter Consulting for a dynamic discussion about the lessons they have learned along the way to inspire, mentor and challenge their staff. These excellent leaders will also address the issue of how accepting the consequences of failure, is part of the ‘job’ as well as share the learning experiences that have occurred during their path to success.
