Known as BCTIA’s most anticipated and attended event in Vancouver, BCTIA’s Tech Brew was held last night at the Fan Club on Granville Street with the largest turnout yet! Over 200 attendees enjoyed some beer and wine on tap, beer samples courtesy of Steamworks and free bottled water from Happy Water while mingling with Vancouver’s top technology industry professionals. The Tech Brew was also sponsored by companies that develop and feature the latest and greatest technology. Chimp.net, Clio, Destiny Media Technologies, EDP Software, Energex, Layer 7 Technologies, Roam Mobility and Savox had displays stet up around the venue, evoking interest from many of the attendees.
Mid-way through the evening, our attention was called to for the announcement of the 2014 Technology Impact Awards finalists. Each company seemed to have a group of supporters as bursts of cheers came from sections of the crowd as each company was nominated. You can find more details on the categories and finalists on BCTIA’s website.
This event was a true success, and many networkers continued to mingle after the announcements, staying to enjoy a blues band and some dancing later on in the evening. I highly recommend becoming a member of BCTIA and attending the many events they put on throughout the year. This organization offers a fantastic opportunity to meet professionals and emerging leaders in the technology industry. This group is passionate about tech, people, innovation, and new opportunities.
Stay tuned for the 2014 Technology Impact Awards on June 5th, 2014 at the Vancouver Convention centre. For tickets and more information, visit www.bctia.org.
