One of the central problems facing societies that have undergone a civil war is namely post-conflict violence. Even if a civil war is officially over, the post-conflict condition is far from peaceful. It is often one of persistent violence, including widespread civil war, recidivism, and innumerable forms of violence. This PeaceTalk will explore the problem through a range of post-conflict cases, including Abkhazia, and draw implications for the practice of post-conflict peace building.
