The media is full of reports of bursting bubbles, slowdowns, and imminent disaster in the Vancouver housing market, The market has clearly slowed, but what lies ahead?
Prof. Tsur Somerville examines the Vancouver housing market along with the broader Canadian housing market using economics to separate panic from context. And in doing so, tries to make economics as painless as possible.
Dr. Somerville’s talk, “Maybe the Sky Isn’t Really Falling,” places Vancouver’s current conditions in both a historic context and in current economic and financial market conditions, both local, national, and international, arguing that just because the US melted down in no way implies we must do so as well.
Includes networking session. Appetizers will be served (no dinner).
Sponsored by the Professional Builder’s Institute of British Columbia (PBIBC)
Deadline to register is Monday, March 4, 2013.
