Event Information
At the next CIQS BC dinner event, Randall Kovacs, President of Gage-Babcock & Associates Ltd. will
present the changes that have been adopted in Part 3 of the new 2012 British Columbia Building Code
(BCBC). The BCBC is the primary code for projects in British Columbia, except in the City of Vancouver.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
– Identify general changes made to Division B – Part 3 of the latest edition of the BCBC;
– Understand the implications and requirements of the new ‘care’ occupancy classification introduced into the code;
– Identify changes that directly impact architectural designs; and
– Understand changes to fire alarm and fire stopping requirements.
